First Total Lunar Eclipse in 3 Years – When and Can Pakistanis See It?

Pakistan’s space agency, SPARCO, has declared that the first total lunar eclipse in nearly three years will occur on March 14, 2025. Under this amazing event, the moon will light up a stunning reddish tint, a spectacle observed last year in 2022.

Timing of the Eclipse (Pakistan Standard Time):

Begins: 8:57 AM

Peak (total eclipse): 11:58 AM

Ends: 3:00 PM

Sadly, the eclipse will occur during the day in Pakistan, so it will not be possible to observe from there. Sky enthusiasts from North and South America will have the chance to observe this heavenly phenomenon instead.

SPARCO officials described how lunar eclipses take place when the Earth comes between sunlight and the moon, casting a shadow that causes the moon to become red. Pakistan will have to miss this one, but the next chance to spot a total lunar eclipse in the area is in late 2026.
