The Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, launched the Punjab Dhee Rani Scheme 2025. Under this program, qualified brides across the province will receive financial assistance and large wedding festivities are being organized for low-income families.
Financial Assistance for Newlywed Couples:
The welfare program provides newly married couples with a sum of money through an ATM card worth PKR 100,000. It covers the expenses of marriage through food, furniture, clothes, and other basic home needs that couples can easily start their new lives with.
Mass Wedding Ceremonies: A Successful Initiative
During the inaugural phase of Punjab Dhee Rani Scheme, 1,500 mass wedding ceremonies were arranged and conducted for the benefit of thousands of families. The state government has begun the second round of the same scheme with a plan to make another 1,500 couples tie the knots across the Punjab state. In this regard, the registration has started for this second phase also.
